1st Annual El’dad “El’ympics”
June 17, 2016
Competition was fierce but light hearted at the El’dad Ranch 1st Annual El’ympics held on June 17, 2016. The weather was somewhat uncooperative with rain in the early part of the day, however; it did not deter from over 35 participants and staff from taking part in the day’s events. The day included an obstacle relay race, a tire changing competition as well as a firewood stacking contest which gave teams points for the highest tower constructed in a timed event.
Steve Perron, a local craftsman from Ste Anne stopped in the afternoon with a show of his chain saw skills. Steve graciously donated the Eagle he constructed to El’dad.
Lunch included hot dogs on the fire with lots of pop and ice cream to wash them down. After the challenging “Taste Test” competition, the day concluded with a team flag event which included a ton of water balloons with each team defending their flags attempting to stay dry. (Not!!)
The event was an overwhelming success. Next year’s El’Ympics should be bigger and better!
Thank you to all the organizers and participants!
