Alternative Justice Program
IJC's Alternative Justice Program (AJP) is a residential and day program that provides 24/7 support and supervision to men who have been in minor conflict with the law. This programs offers vocational training, education, as well as other assistance. This program holds its participants accountable for their actions yet at the same time provides a safe place to learn skills, positive values, and positive relationships, which we believe is more effective in changing behaviour than time in prison. Together, staff and participants work at designing an individualized program that can result in a meaningful and productive future for the individual.
By being part of IJC, individuals also gain access to a wide range of events, workshops, and social groups, including our Indigenous Therapeutic Services.
Program Eligibility
Participants in IJC's Alternative Justice Program must meet the eligibility requirements of Community Living disABILITY Services (CLdS) or Provincial Alternative Support Services (PASS) and may also require a court order.
