Residential Homes
IJC’s Residential Program provides comprehensive residential assistance to individuals facing challenges in maintaining their basic needs.
Our support approach is solution-focused, strength based, person-centered, and incorporates harm reduction strategies when appropriate. We foster a safe, non-judgmental environment where residents can explore their individuality and learn from their experiences.
Residents in the program live in homes leased and maintained by IJC, ensuring their fundamental necessities are met, including food, shelter and transportation. All homes are licensed through Residential Care Licensing and subject to annual reviews to ensure the highest quality of care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Compatibility among housemates is considered before matching residents with homes.
Our dedicated staff are there around the clock, offering 24/7 support. Staff-to-resident ratios are tailored to individual needs are determined on a case-by-case basis. By being part of IJC, individuals gain access to a wide range of events, workshops, and social groups, including our Indigenous Therapeutic Services.

Program Eligibility
Participants in IJC's Residential programs must meet the eligibility requirements of Community Living disABILITY Services (CLdS) or Provincial Alternative Support Services (PASS). Participants join our programs through referrals from their Community Service Worker (CSW). Referrals may be sent to referrals@initiativesjc.org.
If you or the individual you are supporting does not have a CSW, please contact the relevant intake office of CLdS.
