Home Share
IJC's Home Share Program provides a suitable approach for participants with the potential for greater independence: adults living with intellectual disabilities who may not require 24/7 supports but would benefit from access to daily supports. Participants in this program live with Home Share Providers, who are responsible for shelter, food, and daily supports. Please note that IJC's Home Shares are currently only available in Eastman.
Individuality is encouraged within a safe, non-judgmental environment where mistakes can be learned from. In doing so, the supports will be solution-focused, strength-based, and person-centered while using harm reduction when appropriate. By being part of IJC, supported individuals also gain access to a wide range of events, workshops, and social groups, including our Indigenous Therapeutic Services.
Supporting Our Providers
Home Share Providers are supported by IJC in a variety of ways. We aid providers in licensing their home through Residential Care Licensing to ensure the highest quality of care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Compatibility among housemates, including family members, is considered before matching residents with homes. Our team connects regularly with providers and participants to address concerns and track planned goals.
