Russ has been a dedicated speaker with Visions and Voices for more than 15 years and is a passionate advocate for individuals living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). A proud father, he uses his lived experience to educate others about the realities of living with FASD and the importance of understanding, acceptance, and support.
As a natural teacher, Russ is committed to helping communities, service providers, and justice professionals better understand FASD and the accommodations that can help individuals succeed. He believes that people with FASD deserve to be recognized and valued for who they are, and he works to reduce stigma by sharing his story with honesty and hope.

Russ openly shares his experiences with the justice system and the challenges he faced. Through the support of the Restorative Justice Program and a strong network of people who believed in him, he was able to make positive changes in his life. Today, he is proud to be free from probation and credits support, understanding, and second chances for helping him stay on a positive path.
His presentations highlight the importance of meaningful supports, person-centered approaches, community inclusion, and recognizing the strengths of individuals living with FASD. With warmth, humour, and authenticity, Russ continues to be a respected voice within the FASD community, inspiring others through education, advocacy, and lived experience.
